PMI Team Building Event in the Snow

PMI Team was meeting in January to prepare for the new business year with a wintery team building exercise.

PMI Team was taken by bus to Grindelwald in Swizerland, one of the most scenic Swiss villages beneath the legendary Eiger North Face. Next on the agenda was a gondola cableway ride to First (2166 m) where a sled was handed out to each person.

Then the hike to “Bachalpsee” and further up to “Faulhorn” (2681 m) started. And it was hard work. "I was reaching my physical limits," says a team member - saying out loud what many others have been thinking - as he finished the demanding trail with sections that were steep, frosty and slippery. Temperatures down to -10° Celsius only added to the challenges faced by the team. The whole team supported each other and motivated the colleagues to achieve the common objective.

Once at the top of “Faulhorn”, team was rewarded for the effort with a unique panoramic view of Swiss glaciers and peaks, the beauty and majesty of the Swiss Alps and a high-Alpine wonderworld of ice, snow and rocks. The weather was beautiful and the sun was reflected by the snow.

Now team members were definitely ready for the fun part of the team building event: With it’s length of 15 km the "Big Pintenfritz" is the longest sled run in the world which leads from the “Faulhorn” via “Bussalp” down to Grindelwald. Team members were flying on their sleds and had lots of fun in the snow.

The cooperation during the demanding trip in bad outdoor conditions bonded the team together. They all successfully mastered the hike and the sled ride down to Grindelwald.

The team-building day incorporated the right balance of fun, adventure and challenges and turned into a truly memorable experience.
